Reformer for Beginners: Full-Body Band Flow
With resistance band and box — from footwork to squat
A calm entry-level flow with resistance band and box: footwork and glute bridge lying down, box step-up with scooter, arms and roll-down on the short box, and a squat to finish. Ten exercises with clear spring settings — ideal for your first Reformer classes.
Who This Class Is For
For beginner groups and anyone taking their first reformer classes. The resistance band gives feedback without making things heavy.
A good pick if you are new to teaching: the class stays easy to follow, and the box work only comes once the group is warm.
The Common Thread
A calm full-body flow: legs and pelvis lying down first, then standing and kneeling at the box, and finally arms and trunk seated plus a squat.
The band runs through the whole class, so your group feels which muscles work before the reformer itself adds more load.

How the Class Runs
Warm-up
Settle in and breathe.
Main section
Ten exercises: footwork with band (heels and balls of the feet, each with leg circles), glute bridge and crunch in tabletop with band, box step-up with scooter, kneeling kickback on the box with plank, biceps curl & arm series and roll-down with twist on the short box, forearm plank on the box with band, and a squat with band. Two side changes have their own cards.
Cool-down
Roll out and stretch.
50 min in total.
Springs and Small Equipment
The lying work runs on one light and one medium spring; from the box work on, one light spring is enough. Only the final squat needs more resistance again.
Set out: resistance band, box and straps.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does this work as a first reformer class?
Yes. It stays at beginner level, and the band makes the exercises easier to feel rather than harder.
What equipment do I need?
A resistance band, the box and the straps on the reformer.
How often do I change springs?
Rarely: lying work on light plus medium, then almost everything on one light spring; only the final squat needs more.
