Starting Position

The short box on the Reformer. Sitting on the box facing the end of the Reformer, feet on the headrest. Both hands in the short straps, arms long beside the body, palms facing back.

Step-by-Step Flow

  1. Bring the long arms behind the back.
  2. Cross the straps and open the long arms to the right and left, like opening a newspaper.

Cues for Teaching

  • Sit tall, the upper body doesn’t lean into the straps.
  • The shoulders stay down and broad.
