Starting Position

Sitting on the box, facing the end of the Reformer. The left thigh in the long strap, the ball under the shoulder blades, hands behind the head, toes set on the floor.

Step-by-Step Flow

  1. Lean back over the ball.
  2. Bring the left leg into tabletop.
  3. Hold the left leg in tabletop and add the twist to the left knee.
  4. Pulse the long right arm past the leg in tabletop, then lean back over the ball.

Cues for Teaching

  • Lean over the ball, don't slump onto it.
  • The crunch comes from the abdominals, the head rests heavy in the hands.
  • In the twist the rib cage turns, the pelvis stays on the box.
