Starting Position
Facing right. The right foot on the box, the left knee on the carriage, the shin against the shoulder blocks, optionally the ball between the hands. The right knee stays over the ankle.
Step-by-Step Flow
- Open and close the carriage with the left knee.
- Add a twist toward the end of the Reformer as you open.
- Hold the carriage open with the left knee and only twist toward the end of the Reformer.
- Pulse with the left knee.
- Open the carriage, straighten the arms and pass the ball overhead. Then straighten the right leg too, close, and bring the right knee back over the ankle.
Cues for Teaching
- The carriage closes from the inner thigh, not from momentum.
- The right knee stays over the ankle.
- In the twist the rib cage turns, the pelvis stays square.
