Starting Position

Place the box to the left of the Reformer. The right foot stands on the box, the left foot taps the floor.

Step-by-Step Flow

  1. Step-up onto the box with the left leg.
  2. Sweep the left foot forward and back.
  3. Place the right foot on the carriage against the shoulder block, the left foot stands on the box — lunge.
  4. Hold the lunge and bend and extend the right leg (scooter).
  5. Hold the lunge and pulse up and down.

Cues for Teaching

  • On the step-up, press up through the whole leg on the box — don’t jump off the floor.
  • In the lunge, the front knee stays over the ankle.
  • The carriage moves slowly — you set the pace, not the spring.
