Starting Position

Facing the end of the Reformer, legs between the shoulder blocks (or crossed if more comfortable), hands in the short straps with the Pilates ring held between them.

Step-by-Step Flow

  1. Hinge back and squeeze the Pilates ring together.
  2. Roll down into the C-curve.
  3. Roll down into the C-curve and bring the long arms overhead.

Cues for Teaching

  • The hinge comes from the hip, not the lower back.
  • On the roll-down, roll out of a round C-curve.
  • The ring stays under tension between the hands.
